What is Tip menu?

Also called: tip list, menu

A tip menu is a published price list of specific things a creator will do or send for a given tip amount. It turns tipping from an open-ended gesture into an ordering system with fixed prices.

What it means for you

  • A published tip menu is generally a good sign. Stated prices are checkable, and a creator willing to publish them is usually running an organised operation.
  • A tip menu is a purchase, not a gratuity. Anything on it that is paid for and not delivered is straightforward non-delivery.
  • Be careful when a menu item is vague. "Custom video" without a length, format or delivery window is an invitation to a dispute.
  • Tip against a specific listed item and say which one, in the same thread. An unattributed tip is a gift; a tip referencing a menu line is an order with a price and an expectation attached to it.
  • A menu that changes constantly, or whose prices are quoted differently in messages than on the published list, is worth noticing. The value of a published price is that it is fixed, and an account that treats it as a starting point has removed that value.

A concrete example

A menu lists a five-minute custom clip at a fixed price with a stated seven-day turnaround. You tip the exact amount and reference the item. That is now a documented order with a price and a date.

Illustrative. Not a real account, and not based on one.

How this shows up in reviews here

Tip-menu orders are among the clearest review material there is, because the promise was written down before the money moved. Reviews describing them tend to be the most useful ones on any profile.
