What is Drip feed?

Also called: scheduled release, drip

Drip feeding is releasing content on a schedule rather than all at once — a set spread over weeks instead of posted in one go. Every platform has tooling for it and most organised creators use it.

What it means for you

  • Drip feeding is normal and usually good: it is what produces a consistent posting schedule instead of bursts and silences.
  • It becomes a problem when it is used to stretch a small amount of content across a long paid period, particularly on bundles.
  • The signal to look for is whether new material is actually being made, or the same archive is being re-released at intervals.
  • Check the public feed over a few weeks before committing to a long period. Consistent posting is the single best predictor that a bundle will be honoured, and it is visible to you for free before you spend anything.
  • Drip feeding done well is genuinely better for you than a single dump: it means something arrives regularly rather than everything at once and then silence. The version to watch for is a thin archive stretched thinner, which looks identical from outside until a few weeks have passed.

A concrete example

A set advertised as "thirty new photos" arrives as three photos a week for ten weeks. Nothing was misrepresented, but the pace was not what the buyer had in mind.

Illustrative. Not a real account, and not based on one.

How this shows up in reviews here

Drip feeding shows up under delivery. A review noting that a bundle was stretched across a period with little genuinely new material is a factual observation about pacing, and it is the sort of detail that only someone who paid for the full period can tell you.
